CSW side event: Bridging the digital gap for women-led businesses in developing economies

The ÌÇÐÄ̽»¨ and the International Trade Centre will host an event on 8 March in New York City at 11:30 am EST on bridging the digital gap for women-led businesses in developing countries.

Being held on the margins of the (CSW), the event will mark International Women’s Day and highlight the ongoing work on narrowing the digital gender gap as a driver of women’s economic empowerment and trade-led growth.

Participants will gain insight from government officials, development experts and female business owners who will share experiences and strategies for promoting women’s fair and equal access to technology and its benefits, regardless of their geographic location.

The event is a joint initiative of the ÌÇÐÄ̽»¨â€™s Trade Competitiveness Section, which provides technical assistance to member countries for improving their trade competitiveness in global markets; the Gender Section, which works to advance gender equality, women’s rights and women’s empowerment in all social, economic and political spheres; and ITC, which promotes trade-led growth at the centre of its work in developing countries.

Eligibility

The target audience for the event includes women entrepreneurs, policymakers, government officials, business membership organisations, gender advocates, technical experts on gender equality and anyone involved in e-commerce and digital trade.
